Location is a little hard to find. Parking is crampt but no helping that. Room was spacious and comfortable. Room was very clean and well tended. Staff were nice and friendly. My only major complaint is about the bathroom soaps and washes. They are "aromatic" types, which are very strong and almost a bit gross. The body wash smells like eucalyptus and the shamboo is a combination of sweet and almost minty smells. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay the night.
The exterior and interior of this hotel are completely different. The exterior looks like a dump. The front office is tiny and cluttered, and the exterior walls and stairs are in disrepair. But inside the rooms, it's very nicely updated. New paint, carpet. High end fixtures and finishes. Tile mosaic in the bathroom. If you can get past the outside and get in a room, it's a very nice place to stay.
My husband and I stayed here this week and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were large, well appointed, fresh and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable so we got one of the best night's sleep we've had in weeks! It was reasonable priced considering it was so close to the SAP Arena. The establishment had very good security in place so we felt safe. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needed to spend the night in downtown San Jose! We will definitely stay here again.
Don't be fooled by the facade, this place is great! The owners are very friendly and helpful and luggage storage before check-in is no problem. They even gave us a call when the rooms were ready. The rooms themselves are quite comfortable and modern. The beds were especially comfy!
This place definitely looks a bit run down on the outside but the room was incredibly nice. The man at the front desk was very courteous and helpful the entire time that we were there. The location is also a pretty nice plus for this place as well.
Stayed in a new remodeled room on 3rd floor; spacious and clean and overall very nice. Power- & USB outlets at bedside. Some minor traffic noise from the street in the morning (Wed), but not more than expected from the location. Very friendly folks (seems to be family owned). I would certainly stay here again. [March 15, 2017: When I left I asked to see one of the few old rooms still to be remodeled (8 to go of which several were undergoing work) and owner was happy to show me. Woohoo! - I totally understand previous comments. I wouldn't spent 5 mins in one of those (and I hope they don't rent those out and definitely not without telling people).]
Inside of rooms are beautifully remodeled, making this a great value. Pay no attention to the exterior... would stay here again, no question!
Everything is new and renovated nicely. Still working on exterior so don't get turned off. Room very nice
The rooms are spacious enough, though i have had a few minor problems such as the fact that none of the wi dows have screens. Other than that, its been a good stay.
